
Teri Hatcher was born Teri Lynn Hatcher on December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto California. Her mother Esther was an engineer at Lockheed Martin computer programmer, and her father Owen was an electrical engineer and nuclear physicist. She was raised by Esther. Teri was a ballet student at the San Juan School of Dance and was raised in Sunnyvale. She attended Fremont High School, where she was leader of the Featherettes dance team. She also was named "Most Likely to Become a Solid Gold Dancer." Hatcher graduated from De Anza College, where she studied engineering and mathematics. She also attended acting classes in San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri admitted that her uncle Richard Hayes Stone abused her sexually beginning at age 5. She assisted the Santa Clara County prosecutor with their case against Stone. Stone was responsible for the suicide of a 14-year old victim. Stone was found guilty of four charges of molestation. Stone passed away from colon cancer while in prison
