The achievements of Maureen FitzSimons when she was a teenager in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would be a sure signification for her to the category of child prodigies. For a young Irish girl with talented parents and extended families, these characteristics were a normal. Maureen was born in Ranelagh which was a suburb in Dublin the capital of Ireland on the 17th of August 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons' mother, Lilburn, was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion of "The Shamrock Rovers," famous Irish soccer team. Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen loved playing rough sports as a kid and excelled in sports. Her passion was coupled with the natural ability to perform. This was apparent when she was awarded every Feis in drama and theatre the Irish had to provide. In her 14th year, she joined the Abbey Theater to follow her dream and study classical theatre and operatic vocals.
